EDUCATION IS A HIGH PRIORITY

EDUCATION IS A HIGH PRIORITY

Your three year old will excel and very soon Spanish will become second nature to them as they absorb all the new vocabulary, grammar and so on. Attending in house field trips, circle time, reading stories, writing and learning their letters and numbers, singing songs and socializing with their friends are some of the things your child will tackle throughout the day. You will see how our positive environments allow your child to show pride and confidence in their work that will overflow into their daily lives.

A BALANCE OF STRUCTURED LEARNING WITH
CREATIVE PLAY TIME

Of course, we have a great curriculum that will prepare your child for Kindergarten.  But our creative play times are what make our Threes program really shine. (Your child will tell you all about it!)

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT AND PARTNERSHIP

Family events, parent volunteers, and open frequent communication help our Three’s Parents feel connected and involved in our school.

POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT APPROACH

Parents often ask us about how we approach discipline.  We believe in re-directing and positive focus, rather than “time outs”, and we find it works more effectively at this age.

ALL-INCLUSIVE ENRICHMENTS

Spanish, Art, and Music education is included at no extra charge.  We don’t want you to worry about any “additional fees.”

IN-HOUSE FIELD TRIPS

From petting zoos to magicians, farmers markets to entertainers, your child will be delighted by all the fun in-house “field trips” she will experience!

IN-HOUSE FIELD TRIPS
CURRICULUM AT A GLANCE

Class will be a combination of learning shapes, colors, numbers, letters and songs and introducing daily commands and vocabulary in Spanish. The Spanish teacher will focus on teaching your child everything they are learning in English in Spanish too! Additionally, your child will learn from engaging activities that focus on the following:

Frequently asked questions

Extensive studies have shown the benefits and increases to creativity, focus, lateral thinking, and other enhancements that occur in a child’s brain. These last a lifetime. If your child continues to practice their Spanish and become fully bilingual, it will then become a competitive advantage for college and jobs afterwards. It’s an excellent feature to distinguish yourself on a resume! Read more on our page “Benefits of Being Bilingual

Young children learning a second language will learn Spanish the same way they learned their first language, but this will occur at a different rate for each student. Most children will go through a ‘silent period’, when “the child is building up competence in the second language via listening, by understanding the language around him”. (Stephen Krashen, 1982). That said, there are many factors that go into each child’s specific timeline for acquiring and speaking Spanish. It typically takes between 5 and 7 years to achieve fluency in a second language, but there are many factors to consider for each child’s route to speaking Spanish. These factors include time in school, personality, exposure to Spanish outside of school and personal background with Spanish.

FAQs

NOT AT ALL! Most of our parents aren’t bilingual – but many pick up many words and phrases from their children! So if you’ve ever wanted to learn Spanish, you get a little fringe benefit of having your child attend Courthouse Academy!
Actually, it’s the opposite – studies show that learning 2 languages at a young age creates new neural pathways in the brain, which has all sorts of benefits, including a greater ability to focus and task switching – both critical life skills that are a huge advantage in school and future work!
The younger you start with a second (or third!) language, the easier it will be for your child, and the greater the benefits.
Your child deserves the best – and that’s who’s going to teach them.
