Founded in 1992, the Courthouse Academy is still owned and operated by the founder Kym Pomares.
Kym had a vision that she has transferred to thousands of students over the years and has been proven time and time again: bilingualism is a significant life advantage.
Kym did not grow up in a bilingual household. She knew she was of Spanish heritage on her father’s side, but she lost him to illness at a very young age. It was not until years later that she discovered he was of Cuban origin. But she always, from a very young age, felt knowing another language was critical to life success. In high school Spanish clicked for her, and after college it grew into a lifelong passion.
Over the past 25 years of running this school, Kym and her team have worked hard to provide academic excellence through a wide variety of learning experiences and innovative curriculum. Their beautiful building supports infants, toddler, preschoolers and children all the way through grade-5 immersed in an English-Spanish environment that stimulates their minds, builds their confidence, in an Academy that keeps learning fun.
